Thibaut Désiront, known as MEKA, is a Canadian–French illustrator and visual artist with over two decades of experience across the creative industries. Born in France in 1981 and now based in Canada, his work sits at the crossroads of illustration, graphic design, motion, and visual storytelling.
Rooted in skateboarding, music, and street culture, MEKA’s work blends bold color palettes, strong graphic compositions, and character-driven narratives. His approach favors expressive form and symbolic imagery over realism, drawing inspiration from modernist painting, comics, and contemporary visual culture.
Trained in graphic design at Beaux-Arts, he began his career creating flyers, posters, and visuals for music venues and underground scenes before expanding into large-scale collaborations with global brands such as Adidas, Nike, Converse, and Stüssy. His practice has since grown to include apparel design, branding, editorial illustration, murals, live performances, and animated illustration.
Alongside his commercial work, MEKA develops long-term personal projects such as Keep Pushing, a visual mantra inspired by skate culture and resilience, and Nyara, an original narrative universe exploring character development, worldbuilding, and visual storytelling.
Balancing personal exploration with high-profile collaborations, his work is driven by a consistent philosophy: pushing ideas forward, embracing experimentation, and creating images that connect culture, emotion, and identity.
